MASTERCLASS TEACHERS
EVANGELINE BENEDETTI Asought-after master clinician, specialized in Alexander Technique, and guest artist. Evangeline Benedetti served for 20 years on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music and became the first female cellist of the New York Philharmonic in 1967.
SILVIA CHIESA Known as a refined and passionate interpreter, Silvia Chiesa teaches at the "Monteverdi" Institute of Musical Studies in Cremona. In 2016 she received the Anlai Prize of the Italian national violin-making association. She performs on a Giovanni Grancino cello from 1697.
DAVID GERINGAS A pupil of Rostropovich and gold-medal winner at the 1970 Tchaikovsky Competition, and a career that has spanned decades. David Geringas is an honorary professor at the Moscow Conservatoire and at the Central Conservatory in Beijing. iClassical Academy recorded his Masterclasses at the Schoenfeld International String Competition 2018.
JACOB KULLBERG Cello professor at the Royal College of Music, Jakob Kullberg is praised internationally for his performances of the modern cello concerto. In 2013 he was appointed to the Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Programme. iClassical Academy recorded his Masterclasses at the Schoenfeld International String Competition 2018.
AMIT PELED One of the most sought-after cello pedagogues, Professor at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University. Peled was chosen among "Musical America's 30 Professionals of the Year 2015 and performed for many years on Pablo Casals’s own cello, a 1733 Matteo Gofriller.
ZVI PLESSER Has been on the faculty of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance since 1998, and has taught at North Carolina School of the Arts and in Hochschule für Musik Würzburg in Germany. He graduated from the Juilliard School where he studied with Zara Nelsova.
PETER SZABO Principal cellist of the Budapest Festival Orchestra and solo cellist of the World Orchestra for Peace, founded by Sir George Solti, Holder of the UNESCO Artist for the peace prize. Szabó studied at the Ferenc Liszt Academy in Budapest with Ferenc Rados, György Kurtág and László Mező.
MARIA TCHAIKOVSKAYA Professor at the Moscow State Conservatory. Former student and later assistant to the great and legendary Mstislav Rostropovich. First Prize winner of the International Pablo Casals Competition in Budapest in 1968..
URI VARDI Professor of cello at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Uri Vardi has specialized in the Feldenkrais Method, for which he received the UW-Madison Arts Institute Faculty Development Award in 1999. His teachers have included Janos Starker, Aldo Parisot, Eva Janzer, and Uzi Wiesel.
DMITRY JABLONSKY Grammy-nominated conductor and award-winning cellist Dmitry Yablonsky received great critical acclaim for his recording of all of the Études from Popper's High School of Cello Playing. Yablonsky is Head of International Relations of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music and Tel Aviv University.
JING ZHAO Born in Beijing, Jing Zhao studied at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, then at the Tokyo College of Music. A former student of David Geringas, she won the 1st prize at the renowned ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2005. iClassical Academy recorded Masterclasses in Chinese with Prof Zhao.
DENIS ZHDANOV Award-winning solo cellist of the Philharmonic Orchestra Freiburg. Denis Zhdanov is a winner of the International A. Rubinstein competition (Moscow 1997), the International Brahms Competition and the International Aram Khachaturian competition.

INBAL MEGIDDO is Associate Professor and Head of Cello Studies at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington, and has held faculty positions at the Yale School of Music and Oberlin Conservatory. She has residencies, has given masterclasses at numerous institutions, is a Distinguished Guest Artist of the biannual International Melbourne Cello Festival, and is the founder and director of the Cellophonia International Festival in Wellington. She teaches all Popper etudes in the "Popper High School of Cello Playing Course."

FULVIA MANCINI Italian cellist, teacher, arranger and cultural manager. A pupil of renowned cellists Marianne Chen, Patrick Demenga and Antonio Meneses. Between 2005 and 2010, Fulvia obtained two Master’s Degrees from the Haute Écoles de Musique de Suisse and graduated in Law from the University of Bologna and in Arts Management from the Zurich University. Fulvia created a course "Daily Routine and Performance".
NADIA DAVID Classical cellist and Feldenkrais specialized teacher. Born in Bucharest, Romania, Nadia David began her studies at a young age, continued in Israel at the prestigious Rubin Academy in Tel Aviv with Professor Uzi Wiesel. After moving to the Netherlands, she graduated with the Highest Honours at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. Ms David was awarded the "Prix d'Exellence", the highest award granted to artists by the Dutch Government. Her course is about less effort in cello playing.
