Bach Violin Sonata No. 2 in Am, BWV 1003
II Fugue, Part 1

Teacher:
Miriam Fried

Composer:
Bach

Lesson Description

The piece doesn't need any presentation, but the teaching approach by Miriam Fried could be definitely eye-opening; in fact, despite the known intensity of a Fugue, Our Master Teacher points out that very often Bach's inspiration for fugues comes from dances, and then describes the polyphonic structure; the result is that it demands less scanning and separations than we could think, which would bring to reshaping the performance and how we think about it.
