This is one of the two Sonatas that Brahms composed for Cello and Piano, and, as he himself wrote: "Piano will be a partner, sometimes a leader, but it will never have a role of pure accompaniment. Hence the main topics of this movement, which are: Matching with the Piano, through accurate planning of your sound, and Managing Sonority, which our teacher shows with a lot of samples that she plays with her outstanding ability.
