Principal trumpet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
Frits Damrow was the principal trumpet of the famous Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam for almost 20 years. He started his musical career as principal trumpet player of the Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Netherlands when he was 21 years old.
Besides his long career as an orchestral musician, he appeared as a soloist with many international orchestras. As a chamber musician, he has been active in several groups and ensembles.
Professor of trumpet at the Zürich University of the Arts
A professor of trumpet at the Zürich University of the Arts since 2009, he taught at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam for almost 20 years. Many of his former students hold positions in leading orchestras and won prizes at international competitions.
Renowned International Masterclasses
He has been invited to many renowned international universities to give masterclasses, like the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, North Western University in Chicago, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and the Sibelius Academy Helsinki, among others.
