Prizewinner Major International Piano Competitions
Maurizio Baglini studied with Giampiero Semeraro at the Conservatory La Spezia and with Piero Rattalino and Lazar Berman at the Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola.
At a very young age, he was a prizewinner in major International Piano Competitions, such as the Busoni in Bolzano, the Chopin in Warsaw, and the William Kapell in Maryland.
In 1999, at the age of 24, he won the grand prize at the World Music Piano Master in Montecarlo, with the unanimous consensus of the jury.
Internationally Active Concert Pianist
Baglini is internationally active as a concert pianist, performing as a soloist in prestigious orchestral seasons and renowned festivals worldwide.
Maurizio Baglini is currently teaching at Mascagni Conservatorio in Livorno. He gives regular masterclasses at the Fondi Academy and teaches at conservatories such as Cremona and Brescia.
Together with his partner, Silvia Chiesa, a cellist, they form a long-lasting and successful piano-cello duo.
Artistic Director Amiata-Piano-Festival
Baglini is the artistic director and one of the founders of the Amiata Piano Festival in Cinigiano, Grosseto, Tuscany, and the artistic director of Teatro di Pordenone.
