Saint-Saens Rondo Capriccioso

Teacher:
Janna Gandelman

Composer:
Saint-Saens

Lesson Description

This composition is dedicated to the 18th-century violinist Pablo de Sarasate, and there's a very audible Spanish influence in the flow of this romantic composition. It has an infallible effect on the audience, but it demands precision and technique. Our professor gives a detailed description of all the dynamics, especially the Forte-Piano flow, accents, and bowing, and in Tutorial B, she also gives suggestions on different possible interpretations. It could be necessary to use our slow-motion feature extensively.
Assistant: Mark Karlinsky
