Ksenia's Performances

The lesson is based on the continuous combination of "practical functionality." How to play a phrase and prepare for the next one and achieve "a swinging sound," which is the alternation of legato and staccato all along the piece but with a different nuance for every passage, so you'll never be repetitive.
Vibrato tools
Ksenia is a great master of Vibrato, so you'll find straightforward advice about where to play intense vibrato, how long, and what comes next. Particular passages are shown from a camera put vertically above Ksenia's Instrument neck, "optimizing the fingering," so you'll learn when precisely to place and move your fingers on the neck.
A list of tips about optimization on left-hand movements cannot be missed. "Rallentando & Accelerando meanings," where to start and how to be back from a Tempo excursion, and why.

We recommend this lesson as a shining example of how to be extremely precise yet full of touching interpretation. You can also listen to the audio of all Ysaye Solo Violin Sonatas, from Ksenia's CD here.
