A First Prize winner of the International Pablo Casals Competition in Budapest (1968), Maria Tchaikovskaya was a Mstislav Rostropovich student. She is an active performer, and as a teacher, she served as the assistant to the late Rostropovich.
Professor Moscow State Conservatory
Currently, she holds the position of professor at the Moscow State Conservatory. She frequently gives Masterclasses worldwide.
