Maria Tchaikovskaya graduated from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and proceeded with research internship under M. Rostropovich. During her studies she became a prizewinner of the All Union Competition in Moscow and International Competition in Budapest. She also earned a diploma from International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
Maria Has Taught at Russia’s Best Conservatories
After completing her studies started teaching at Kiev Conservatory. In 1979 she returned to Moscow Conservatory, first as an associate professor and in 1992 became a full-professor. She is currently a Head of Cello and DoubleBass division at Moscow State Conservatory.
Maria Conducts Master Classes
There are a lot of international competitions prizewinner among Tchaikovskaya’s former students. She regularly conducts master classes in Russia and abroad. She’s a jury member of many international competitions. In 2006 Maria Tchaikovskaya was presented with the People’s Artist of Russia title.
