Bio

William was born in 1992 in France and began his musical education after immigrating to Israel in 1999. In his first years of studies he was recipient of the Dvaron Foundation and of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. William participated in the Jerusalem Music Center Excellence Program from 2005 and has participated in many concerts and projects with the program.

William Performed in Honor of the London Olympics

His orchestral experience includes First Cellist of the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as well as of the Buchmann-Metha School Orchestra. In 2012, William represented Israel in the Britten-Pears Orchestra in honor of the London Olympics.

Touring the USA, South America and Europe

William has been touring in various orchestras and chamber music groups across the USA, South America and Europe, playing in the most prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (Proms) in London, Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin, Kodaly Center in Hungary, and the Carnegie Center in New York.

William played in Masterclasses with artist such as János Starker , Frans Helmerson, Uzi Wiezel, Pieter Wispelwey, Y.C.Cho among others. Many of his concerts have been broadcast for radio and television.

William is an Accomplished Soloist

As a Soloist William has performed with the Jerusalem Academy of Music High School under the baton of Zvi Carmeli, as well as with the Buchmann-Metha School of Music Orchestra under the baton of Ronen Borshevsky.  

In 2012, William won the concerto competition at the Buchmann-Metha School of Music. In 2013 he won third prize at the chamber music competition of the school and in 2014 won third prize in the Grits Competition for string players at the Jerusalem Academy of music and dance.

William’s Many Teachers

Among his teachers are Sabina Frankenberg, Ina-Esther Joost Ben-Sasson, Hillel Zori and Zvi Plesser, with whom he studied at the Jerusalem Academy High School, Buchmann-Metha School of Music, Tel Aviv University, and the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance from which he obtained a bachelor degree.

Alongside his musical activities William is a certified Ilan Lev Method Practitioner and is happy to teach students with the method.
