Born in Spain in 1993, Juan Francisco Otón Martínez started his piano studies at 8 with Nuria Belando. At 10 he was invited to play at the Manuel de Falla Theatre in Granada.
Juan is a First Prize Winner
He is a first prize winner of the International Piano Competition for Young Performers Ciutat de Lliria and of the National Piano competition Gabriel Teruel Machi. In November 2015 he won the Prize for the Best Interpretation of Spanish Music at the Concurso Internacional De Piano Compositores de España.
Performances Throughout Europe
So far, Juan Francisco has performed at the Manual de Falla Theatre, Wiener Saal and Mozarteum University of Salzburg and at the Auditori y Palau de Congressos in Castellón. Recently, he has played the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto nr. 2 in Koronowo (Poland), with the Torun Symphony Orchestra.
A Busy Student of Music
He has participated in Master classes with Leonel Morales, Luca Chiantore, Mariana Gurcova, Ludmil Angelov, Ricardo Castro and Pavel Gililov among others. Currently he is finishing his Bachelor studies of Piano Interpretation at the Music Conservatory of Castellón, under the direction of Leonel Morales.
