Bio

Born in the United States in 1998, Elena Kawazu has already distinguished herself in many international musical scenes.

She was the prize winner in several competitions, such as Wieniawski Violin Competition in Lublin, IBLA Grand Prize in Italy, International Competition for Violin Kloster Schontal, the 5th International Luis Spohr Competition in Germany, the Violin Virtuoso Competition in Sofia.  

Debut Performance at Age 9

Ever since she made an orchestra debut performing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Weimar Staatskapelle at the age of nine, Elena has performed as a soloist with iPalpiti Chamber Orchestra, Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra in China, Chamber Orchestra of the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia, Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra in the Interlaken Classics, and Zurich Chamber Orchestra.

Her media coverage includes the BBC Oneʼs documentary called “The Making of Me” with world popular fusion violinist, Vanessa Mae, “The Strad” magazine, The Los Angeles Times, WFMT 98.7 Chicago radioʼs live “Piano Forte Salon Series” and “Introductions” and ABC affiliate, KLTV morning news and many more.

Elena Continue Her Studies

 

Elena has been a student of Professor Zakhar Bron at the ZHdk, Musik Hochschule in Köln, and Zakhar Bron Academy. In the United States, she was a former student of Shirley Givens at the Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School in New York. Elena was Student Artist for the 2015 Starling-Delay Symposium NY. In September 2015 she will start at the Hochschule der Kunste Bern with Prof. Niziol Bartek.
